Donation Meters
The Lancaster Parking Authority is kicking off a new charitable endeavor. The program consists of two color coded (red) parking meters located along pedestrian pathways in LPA garages. The initial locations are at the Prince Street Garage (Orange St. elevator exit) and at the Penn Square Garage (walkway to the Marriott/Convention Center).
All the change collected in these meters will be donated to local charities with Make-A-Wish of Philadelphia/Susquehanna Valley as the inaugural beneficiary. Other local charities will benefit from the program in the future.

Energy Efficient Lighting in All LPA Garages
The relighting of Lancaster Parking Authority's garages is one of those proverbial "win-wins," Larry Cohen, Executive Director of the Lancaster Parking Authority enthuses. The replacement of the 2,400 fixtures in all five of the city's public garages provide better, brighter lighting and make the garages safer. It will cost less to power and maintain the fixtures, and the project reduces the authority's environmental impact. We'll reap the benefit of this for probably the next 20 years," Cohen said. It is the first authority-wide lighting replacement done in the garages. Some of the fixtures replaced were original to the garages, the oldest of which were built four decades ago.
